My Custom Figure

Last night I joined my friend Erik and his girlfriend Kamise for an evening of good food and great conversation. Eric and I usually rendezvous at our favorite sushi hangout, Tokyo Diner. This time we decided to switch it up and go for Thai. Sukhothai is the family owned restaurant of my good friend Kandy and a former employer of mine. There we dined on exquisite cuisine while sharing the latest happenings of life and our recent creative endeavors. Erik is a writer who’s main focus is fiction and he also has a fond affection for kitbashing. For those of you unfamiliar with the world of Geekdom, google it! The end result is really amazing and some people make an absolute fortune with their creations. Gotta love those One of A kinds!! As promised I had a handmade belated birthday gift from my friend, his very first (to be completed) custom figure of none other than Jerry Garcia.
What is even more cool is this figure has been recycled twice! What first started as a recycled obi-wan kenobi has now morphed into JJG! I love that the box flap reads *100% recycled awesome*!

This was also my first time meeting Kamise, an aspiring Pastry Chef who dabbles in jewelry and other handcrafted items. You should see the cake she made for her daughter’s 1st birthday!!! She presented me with a delightful assortment of gourmet cookies. YUMMY!!! We instantly hit it off and began feverishly chatting about crafting, completely bogarting the conversation as if Erik wasn’t even at the table, but he didn’t seem to mind! 🙂
